Dr. Julia Haes has been deeply engaged with China’s economy and history for over ten years. Coming from a family business background, she studied Business Administration in Munich and San Bernardino (USA) and earned her doctorate at the University of St. Gallen. She managed university partnerships with Chinese institutions at the Freien Universität Berlin before founding her first company, which provided training programs for Chinese professionals. In 2021, she founded the China Institute for the German Economy (CIDW). She also teaches various courses on “Business in China” at Munich Business School.
Chi Zhang 张池

Chi Zhang studied Media and Communication in England and brings over 10 years of experience in Sino-European business consulting. During this time, she has successfully led cross-industry projects in sports, tourism, international education, technology, and the automotive sector. She also managed PR and marketing activities for European small and medium-sized enterprises operating in China. Chi holds a certification in Change Management and joined the CIDW team in 2024.

• A university degree
• Ideally, some initial professional experience
• Fluent language skills in at least two of the following languages: German, Chinese, English
